Kiana Maillet

Kiana Maillet is a member of the Lone Pine Paiute-Shoshone Tribe, born and raised in Lone Pine, California, and a licensed clinical social worker. She teaches in the American Indian Studies department at California State University San Marcos, where she earned her MSW and a joint doctoral degree, and she runs Hiichido, a Native woman-owned clinical practice providing culturally grounded mental health care to Native and Indigenous communities. She serves her tribe as an ICWA representative and on its Cultural Resource Protection Committee, and attends Nüümü Yadoha Paiute language classes.
